Music Blog Post

Nineties: I would add Nirvana too this list because their music produced in the 90s strongly aligns with the vibe of the time period. I'd compare them to the link from this section to Radiohead because of the similar instrument-heavy solos and abstract messages in the lyrics. Smells Like Team Spirit is a prime example of what I am describing.

Electronic: I believe that some of Avicii's songs belong in this category because of the many club mixes that he created. They have a strong DJ feel to them that makes you want to dance like David Guetta's songs mentioned in the blog. Avicii's song Levels is a good modern representation of the electronic, club vibe that I experienced while browsing through this section.

Punk: Blink 182 reminds me of a similar punk sound as The Ramones. They always tell stories within their songs and the tonality of their singing voices almost simulate talking or yelling rather than singing. Blink 182's song First Date has a similar style as The Ramones's I Wanna Be Sedated.

Girl Power: I would personally add Ariana Grande to this list as her music is very connected to the female experience. The examples within the blog varied in style but consistently represented strong female artists and Ariana is no different. Her new song Thank U, Next is very empowering and unique.

Techno: LMFAO's popular song from 2011 came to my mind when I watched many of these clips. It is very techno while also incorporating a lot of lyrics. The message of these songs are very laid-back and encourage dancing along with the beat.
